Description: Perform examinations of teeth, gums, and related tissues through the use of dental instruments, x-rays, and diagnostic equipment to determine dental health and propose appropriate treatments. Perform general cleaning, fluoride applications, sealants, tissue removal, pulp capping, root canals, surgical extractions, crown and bridge replacement, complete or partial teeth replacement, implant restoration, and various other necessary procedures using dental and surgical instruments. Perform oral or periodontal surgery on the jaw or mouth. Formulate treatment plans to ensure optimal client health. Diagnose and treat diseases, oral injuries, and/or malformations of teeth, gums, or related oral structures and provide preventive or corrective services. Write prescriptions for antibiotics or other medications as appropriate. Administer anesthetics to limit the pain experienced by patients during certain procedures. Provide instruction to patients regarding preventive dental care, including the causes and treatment of dental problems or oral health care services. Remain abreast of changes or trends in dental disease and within the industry in general through the careful review of academic journals and other literature produced within the field. Hours 9AM - 5PM, 40 hours per week.
This position requires a Doctor of Dental Surgery (“DDS”) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (“DDM”), or foreign equivalent, and 5 years of progressively responsible experience within the dental industry. The position also requires that the individual’s 5 years of experience include the following: Examining and treating dental diseases; Performing simple surgical extractions; Performing root canals; Performing crown and bridge treatment; Performing complete or partial teeth replacement procedures; and performing implant restoration.
